Texture is the whole point of the Nell. Calf hair wraps the ankle-height shaft in a finish that catches light differently depending on where you happen to be standing.
Clean seam lines keep the silhouette polished rather than shaggy, which is the risk with any textured upper. An inside zipper handles getting the bootie on and off without breaking that line, and the heel sits at a moderate height — enough to lift the shape, not enough to become the problem by mid-afternoon. Cushioning at the heel absorbs impact so the height never starts to wear on you.
It is a dress bootie for a schedule that does not slow down: worn under a trouser hem where only the texture shows, or with a skirt where the whole shaft is on display. Either way it does more for an outfit than a plain bootie would.
